DON’T YOU MESS AROUND

I learned a lesson from a woman, the best one, that I ever had.

She tended the bar, I didn’t get far with her last week,
But now she’s ready to play

I felt like a dance and I caught a glance from another,

Now there’s two on my plate

Chorus:

I was nasty, I was bad,

Then I learned a lesson from a woman, the best one,

That I ever had

Don’t you mess around (x4)

But there were two women in my heart,

And I should have known from the start,

That playing with two, just wouldn’t do,

Emotions flew off the chart

They knew how to play, and showed me the way to understand, how a woman can mess up a man

I lost the one who loves me so and the one I loved

She let me go

Chorus

The lesson was the best one that I ever had.
